Terms of Service

Effective July 25, 2026

1. What GameBuildMarket is

GameBuildMarket ("we," "us," "the platform") is a marketplace where independent creators ("sellers") list original digital resources for game servers — scripts, mods, packs, maps, configuration files, and custom vehicle builds — and buyers pay for them through escrow-protected checkout. We are not the author of listed resources and we do not operate the game servers they're installed on. We provide the marketplace, payment holding, dispute process, and moderation.

2. Accounts

  • You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account.
  • One person, one account. Sharing login credentials or operating duplicate accounts to evade a suspension is a violation of these Terms.
  • You're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us immediately if you believe it's been compromised.
  • We can suspend or terminate an account for violating these Terms, the Original Work Policy, or applicable law. Suspension terms are covered in the Seller Agreement for seller accounts specifically.

3. How a purchase works

When you buy a listing or accept a bid on a custom gig:

  1. Your payment is charged and held by GameBuildMarket — not sent to the seller immediately. This is what "escrow-protected" means.
  2. For instant-delivery listings, the resource file is released to you automatically once payment succeeds.
  3. For custom work, the seller delivers, then you confirm the delivery meets what was described.
  4. Once you confirm (or if you don't act within the delivery window and nothing is disputed), funds release to the seller minus the platform fee.
  5. If something's wrong, you can open a dispute before funds release — see Section 5.

Every order carries an auto-release window, shown on the order itself, after which funds release to the seller automatically if you haven't confirmed or disputed. This exists so sellers aren't left waiting indefinitely for a buyer who never comes back — check your orders promptly.

4. Fees

GameBuildMarket charges a platform fee on completed sales, deducted from the seller's proceeds — buyers pay the listed price, nothing more. The standard rate is 10%. This rate is administratively configurable and may change; sellers are notified of the current rate in their seller dashboard and the Seller Agreement covers fee terms in more detail. We do not charge buyers a separate service fee on top of the listed price.

5. Disputes

If a delivered resource doesn't match its listing, or a custom gig wasn't delivered as agreed, open a dispute from the order page before the auto-release window closes. A GameBuildMarket team member reviews the order, listing, and both parties' messages, and makes a final call: release the held funds to the seller, or refund the buyer. This decision is made by GameBuildMarket staff and is final within the platform — it does not affect your right to pursue other remedies available under law.

6. Prohibited conduct

  • Listing or delivering work you don't have the right to sell — see the Original Work Policy.
  • Asking a buyer or seller to pay or be paid outside GameBuildMarket's checkout. Off-platform payment has no escrow protection, and we can't help you recover funds lost that way.
  • Listing content that violates a game publisher's terms of service, contains malware, or is illegal to distribute.
  • Manipulating reviews, ratings, or dispute outcomes — including fake accounts, review trading, or retaliatory reviews.
  • Circumventing a suspension by creating a new account.

7. Content and license

Sellers retain ownership of what they create. Listing a resource on GameBuildMarket grants each buyer who purchases it a license to use that resource on servers they operate, under whatever specific terms the seller states on the listing (for example, single-server vs. multi-server use). GameBuildMarket does not acquire ownership of listed resources by hosting them.

8. Disclaimers and liability

GameBuildMarket is provided "as is." We don't guarantee that any listing will work with a specific server setup, game version, or framework — check listing details and ask the seller before buying if you're unsure. To the fullest extent permitted by law, GameBuildMarket's liability for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the amount of the transaction giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost server revenue or player data loss.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date. Continuing to use GameBuildMarket after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent through the support contact listed in your account, or via the dispute/support flow on an active order.
