Seller Agreement

Effective July 25, 2026

1. Who this applies to

This agreement applies to any account that lists a resource for sale, posts a bid on a custom gig, or otherwise sells through GameBuildMarket. It's in addition to, not a replacement for, the general Terms of Service.

2. Getting set up to sell

Applying to sell doesn't require pre-approval to list — you can create listings as soon as your seller account exists. Before you can actually receive a payout, you'll need to complete Stripe Connect onboarding (identity verification, banking details) so GameBuildMarket has somewhere to send your share of a sale. Listings from unverified sellers are clearly marked as such in the admin review queue, and GameBuildMarket may remove a listing or account at any point for violating this agreement.

3. Fees and payouts

GameBuildMarket's standard platform fee is 10% of the gross sale price, taken from your proceeds — buyers pay only the listed price. This rate is shown in your seller dashboard and can be adjusted platform-wide by GameBuildMarket; if it changes, the new rate applies to sales made after the change, not retroactively.

Example: a $50.00 sale at the standard rate pays you $45.00 once the funds release. Funds don't move to you the instant a sale happens — they're held in escrow and release when the buyer confirms delivery, when the order's auto-release window passes without a dispute, or when GameBuildMarket resolves a dispute in your favor.

4. Delivery expectations

  • Instant-delivery listings (a file attached to the listing) release to the buyer automatically on payment — make sure the attached file is actually what's described.
  • Custom gigs and made-to-order listings must be delivered within the delivery window shown on the order. Deliver late or not at all, and a buyer can open a dispute.
  • Deliver what the listing or accepted bid actually described. A pattern of disputed or refunded orders can result in suspension.

5. Original work only

You may only list resources you created or have explicit rights to resell. See the Original Work Policy for what that means in practice, including how we handle a rights claim against your listing.

6. Reviews and ratings

Reviews are tied to a real completed order and can't be edited or deleted by either party after submission, including by you if you disagree with one. If a review is fraudulent or violates platform rules, report it through support — don't attempt to pressure a buyer to change or remove it.

7. Suspension and removal

GameBuildMarket can suspend a seller account or remove a listing for: repeated disputes resolved against the seller, delivering work that isn't original, off-platform payment solicitation, fraud, or any other violation of this agreement or the Terms of Service. Funds already earned from completed, undisputed orders at the time of suspension are still paid out; funds tied to an open dispute are held until it resolves.

8. Taxes

You're responsible for reporting and paying any taxes owed on your GameBuildMarket earnings. Stripe Connect may require tax information as part of onboarding depending on your country and sales volume.
